Old Critters

I suppose that title might be misleading; the critters in these photos aren’t necessarily old, but the photos themselves are. How old? They were all shot earlier this year with my old Canon 300D Digital Rebel. Yep. The original rebel, featuring a whopping 6 megapixels, noise at all ISO levels, an LCD screen about as big as my thumbnail, and a battery that lasted for all of about 50 shots before declaring itself dead. Turn the camera off, take battery out, reinstall battery, and fire up camera for another 50 shots or so. Great fun. I absolutely love my new camera, the Pentax K5, but sometimes it’s still nice to be reminded of how things used to be, to help me to remember to appreciate how good things are now.

  1. The story of your old “original rebel” camera is so humorous. But these photos.
Irrespective of that, all of these photos are really excellent.
