Rose Redux

Well I decided to give the rose another try. I actually tried several different things today, including different items as diffusers and using the pop-up flash on the camera, but in the end the best picture by far was one taken in the shade. I also tried something different and made myself a grey card using a 4 x 6 piece of photo paper and some acrylic paints. This is the result of all these new efforts:

Exposure: 1/125 sec;   f/4.5;   ISO 100;  70mm; Pentax K5 with Sigma 70mm f2.8 DG Macro

I think this turned out much better than the previous photo; the colors are much truer due to using my grey card which gave me a much more accurate starting point for getting a good white balance. All in all I’d call this a win from a technical standpoint.
