Zoo Too!

As promised, photos of furry, feathered, or otherwise adorned critters both great and small were taken, and the time for sharing has arrived. This first installment features fauna of the feathered variety, a rather diverse group of characters as you shall soon see…

These dapper fellows were enjoying a sack lunch (you can see the bag under the tail feathers), and managed to inhale their fine repast with a minimum of squabbling.

I don’t know what species this is, but I love their fine and wispy tail and chest feathers. They look like something out of a fairytale, quite out of place in the Arizona desert, actually. I think this may be an egret, but don’t quote me.

I assume this is some kind of pelican. There was quite a bit of showmanship going on with wings outstretched fully to catch the early morning air and launch this guy all of three inches into the water.

And lastly, what would a bird collection be without one of these amazingly colored scarlet macaws to finish us off with dazzling style?
