Also Zoo!

This post features friendly and furry members of the animal kingdom. I wish I had more to show, but I don’t have a telephoto lens. My Sigma is only a 70mm (105mm equivalent), and you really need a minimum of 300mm to shoot the big name stars like the tigers, lions, orangutans, etc. However, since a decent tele lens would set me back about $1200, which is approximately $1200 more than I have, there will be no distance shooting for me in the foreseeable future. Perhaps I will just jump into the tiger’s enclosure to get that close-up. Yes, I’m sure that will work.

There’s just something about giraffes that fascinates me, besides their necks. They are such a gangly looking creature, yet to see the way they move with such an indescribably fluid grace always makes me stop so I can just sit and watch them for a bit.

Our zoo has a new member; this Grevy’s Zebra foal. He’s kinda cute, wouldn’t you say?

I don’t know what this is, exactly, but he (or she) was kind enough to continue relaxing in the shade while I grabbed some portraits of him (or her.) He (or she) has a very cool fur coloration that almost seemed to glow in the sunlight.

That’s it for this post. Next up; scaly delights!
